Signing in

To log in to xMatters, you'll need to know your username, password, and the URL (Internet address) of your organization’s xMatters web user interface.

To sign in to xMatters:
  1. Type the URL of your organization’s xMatters web user interface into your browser’s address bar, and then press Enter.
    1. The browser displays a sign-in page.
  2. Type your Username and Password into the fields.
  3. Click Log In.
    1. If your sign in was successful, xMatters displays your Home page. If you cannot sign in, check your username and password or contact your xMatters Administrator.

Depending on your organization’s password policy settings, your account may be ‘locked out’ if you enter an incorrect password more than a specific number of times (determined by your xMatters Administrator). When you are locked out, a message appears on the sign-in page; you will not be able to try again until a certain amount of time has passed, or an Administrator has unlocked your account.

Web Session Timeout

Your xMatters Administrator sets your organization's web session duration. If you remain inactive for the duration of the timeout period, you will be automatically logged out of your xMatters web session. When you log back into xMatters, you will be able to resume your previous session.

1 minute before your xMatters web session times out, a warning pop-up will appear on your screen that prompts you to choose whether to continue your session or log out. If you don't interact with the pop-up before the timeout period ends, you will be logged out of your session.

If you logged in to your xMatters account using your native login credentials (your web login ID and password), you will be redirected to a login screen where you can re-enter your credentials and resume your previous session.

If you logged in to your xMatters account using your SAML login credentials (Single-Sign-On or SSO), you will first be redirected to the SAML error page, which will contain a link to navigate to your SSO login page. After you log back in using your SSO credentials, you will be able to resume your previous session.

When you are automatically logged out of your xMatters web session, your unsaved changes will be preserved until you close your browser.
